Steve Fleming has been guiding on the John Day River since 1990, and has produced more Master Angler Smallmouth Bass (20"+) than any other guide service. The 2007 season for Steve Fleming's Mah-Hah Outfitters produced 22 Master Angler Smallmouth bass, and 111 fishermen caught more than 100 smallies in one day, and six of those actually caught over 200 smallies in one day. The prime time for the big hogs is March, April, and the first part of May. The prime time for lots of fish is July, August, and the first two weeks of September. Steelheading is the last of October thru the first 10 days of December and again the last week of February thru the first week in March. Cast and Blast Trips are also offered the last of October thru the first of December. Trips start as low as $125 per day. Be sure and check out the website for the latest fishing reports, and different types of trips.
