Spinner fishing is becoming increasingly popular when pursuing salmon and steelhead in the Northwest. This technical report will focus on the technique and how it is employed in many northwest waterways specifically bays and rivers in Oregon. Most anglers probably have the impression that there isn’t much to trolling spinners when fishing for salmon. Since the technique started to get popular, there have been some modifications to it that have made it one of the most productive ways to catch salmon, especially for fall chinook. These techniques will be outlined in this report and how anglers can best take advantage of them to make them produce the results you deserve.
