It is just about high noon, the sun is riding through the bluest of blue skies, reminding me why I love fishing the summer steelhead run in July. My plan to hit the Lewis River early in the morning has once again been thwarted by the demands of single parenthood. Finally, having all of my responsibilities out of the way, I am busy day-dreaming about hooking and fighting fish as I drive north towards Woodland, Washington. My anticipation begins to grow as I exit I-5 north and begin winding my way east following the banks of the Lewis River. In a few more minutes I will be arriving at one of my favorite fishing holes in the Northwest……
