Bill Monroe has served Oregon anglers, hunters and wildlife lovers for several decades as an outdoor writer for The Oregonian and The Oregonian/OregonLive. Before coming to Portland and after service in the Navy during Vietnam, he earned journalism and fish and wildlife (minor) degrees from Oregon State University, then worked in the trenches as a beat reporter for the Corvallis Gazette Times. Bill is a past president of both the Outdoor Writers Association of America and the Northwest Outdoor Writers Association and has won numerous awards for his outdoor work. He's active on both The Guides Forecast and Facebook and is a twice-past chair of the Clackamas River Basin Council, which he continues to serve on behalf of fish and their habitat.
