Steelheading remains ho-hum on most systems

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

SW Washington – Steelheading remains ho-hum on most systems in this district but unsurprisingly, the Cowlitz remains a good bet for steelhead for the next several weeks. Spring chinook should start to show here soon although catches won’t ramp up for another month. The smelt season was fantastic here but is not closed and many sport dippers poached over their limits, opening themselves up to sizable fines.

The Kalama and Lewis are the other late season options with the Washougal rounding out the district although the Washougal largely houses just wild fish this time of year.
